Secondhand Bachmann CNR Rolling Stock For Sale

Hi all, Some of you may remember my layout 'Changchun'. I've done very little Chinese modelling over the last few years, and have now decided to dispose of my Bachmann China HO scale Rolling Stock, as my modelling priorities have changed. The stock below was used on Changchun and is 'steam era' roll...

Re: Chinese National Railways RM Class Pacific

Work on the RM continues. Tender nearly finished painting into black and red trim. I've also taken delivery of some interesting 3d printed parts - including some box pok wheels, smoke deflectors and the cab...

Re: Chinese National Railways RM Class Pacific

Some good news....parts for the RM are on their way from shapeways. I've used the print it anyway option as some of the parts are quite thin - particularly the boxpok wheels and smoke deflectors! I'll post an update when I know how they've turned out....

Changchun Loco Shed

Hi all, Please find below, and in the next email, a few scans of some drawings of Chinese Steam Locomotive depots from the 1990's. They were drawn by Michael Powell, who I've long since lost touch with, but who did a lot in the 1990's on one of the early websites describing chinese steam. Michael ha...

Re: Chinese National Railways RM Class Pacific

Hi, I hadn't seen that picture of a C4 before, only these ones: http://www.johnathersuch.com/railways/china_ng/Meixian%20Provincial%20Railway.htm BL50(PX48) http://www.johnathersuch.com/railways/china_ng/Yingde%20Mineral%20Railway.htm From the text, and my findings with the 3d model, it certainly se...

Re: Chinese National Railways RM Class Pacific

Thanks Jos! Not good on the C4 I'm afraid. I have a prototype, however, it appears the boiler is much higher set than the PX48, so it's not a simple matter to get it right. So, haven't done much to it since I received the prototype, as I'm a bit stuck! IF anyone has any good photos of a C4, or even ...

Chinese National Railways RM Class Pacific

So, filled with enthusiasm following discussion with Teamyakima and his ambitious plan to build a large Chinese exhibition layout, the other night I dug out various papers and was reminiscing about Changchun, and thought I’d finish off a long stalled project. Changchun, by the end of it’s exhibition...
