Re: Chinese loco depot slogans

Bill, Thanks for that. I also found a 5 character slogan at Xuzhou North, though my translator app couldn't make much sense of it! I did go through Robin's QJ book, but the big problem is that you can't use translate to get back from Robin's English translations to the characters so I can print them...

Chinese loco depot slogans

Am looking to add some detail to my loco depot. Several photos show 4/5 character "slogans" on the front elevation of depots.

1) were these common?
2) are they political slogans ... or the depot name?
3) can anyone provide an example I can use?

Cheers

Re: NY6

There's not much play in the centre axle and, coupled with scale flange depth, means bogie is prone to jump the rails on track defects and tight curves. I'm currently relaying the 3 problem areas!

Can't blame this on the loco :-) ... But something to be aware of.

Re: NY6

Just been looking at the problem further. Loco runs fine on test stand and I can't see any axle problem. What I believe is the problem is the asymmetric bogie spacing being unable to cope with my curves. The axles don't appear to have enough play and this causes steering problems and causes the lead...

Re: NY6

There's 2 places I'm having trouble. One is a baseboard gap and the other a point frog. All other stock seems ok. Have yet to investigate as am enjoying steam in Sri Lanka, but I didn't think there was an axle problem but more over-sensitive suspension.

Bill,

You go to the upload attachment tab and browse for the image. However, it doesn't work for every one and you might get a quota exceeded message.

Re: NY6/7

I see the prototype was V320001 but not taken up by DB. Although the body is different, the unusual axle spacing is there. Interestingly, it still exists and is stored pending preservation. There's plenty of youtube footage of it working in Weibe ownership. Apparently the design was also exported to...

NY6/7

Does anyone know the background to these locos. As far as I can see, they seem to be a 3 axle export version of DB's class 218. Is that the case? Were they exported anywhere else?

Cheers
