North Korea's leader's train in China

Folks,
Photos of the locos used on Kim IL Whatsit's special train in Beijing station show a double loco (articulated), numbered DF 12 (?), 2001.
Anything further known about this loco?
Is the other half loco No.2000?

Hi Bill,

It is DF11Z double unit locos with road number 0002, see photo below. DF11Z locos mainly used for Chinese government officials and President

Thanks for that info.
The shot is much larger than the one that I was looking at,so the classification and numbers were much easier to read, so now know what this loco is.
When will we see an HO model of this class?
Don't hold one's breath on this!

The model is made by Red Star model which is a new model train manufacturer.

Not sure if coaches are North Korean, a photo shows the train with a KD series coach, made by China...

Can't imagine that the Dear Leader would change trains at the North Korea- China Border, surely he'd go all the way in the one
North Korean VIP train?
Shifting all the goodies and bods that travel with him, this'd be the change from VR broad gauge to NSW std. gauge at Albury by 100 times!
Doesn't happen now, of course!
But the special coaches could easily have been built in China.

In re the armoured carriages themselves, railway carriages, because of their shape, are difficult to successfully protect with armour against present day weapons.
A vertical side panel, because it allows impact at 90 degrees has to be thick to resist the ordinary anti-tank shot.
As a rule of thumb, armour plate of a certain thickness will resist an anti-tank projectile of the same diameter (calibre).
But even thick vertical armour is no use against things such as rocket propelled grenades, which on hitting generate a column of extremely high temperature gas which can burn a hole in thick armour plate.
One way to defeat such missles is to provide an external thin skin outside the main armour, which will detonate the RPG before it hits the main armour.
This may be the system applied to the armoured carriages, but what to do to protect their windows?
Of course, armour plate will add to the vehicle weight, an 1/8" sheet of steel one foot square weighs 5 lbs, so armour to resist a 40mm (1 1/2") A.T. shot would weigh 60 lbs per sq. foot, so a carriage armoured against a 40mm A.T. shot will be pretty heavy!
I suspect that these armoured carriages are only protected against attack by projectiles up to 1/2" calibre.
It's unlikely that we in the outside world will ever know these details, but it's an interesting area for speculation!
And, of course, protection from explosions underneath the carriage, and that's another path to go down!
