What is the correct name of the Chinese railway system?

Post by ben_issacs » 06 Nov 2018, 02:00

Folks,
I ask this question because there have been references to this system being called CNR (China National Railways).
But this was the designation of the national system in the Chiang Shek times, and also applies to the Canadian National railway.
Early references were to the Chinese People's Railway, Zhonghua Renmin Tielu, that seems to have fallen out of favour.
Most of my Chinese published railway books say Zhonghua Tielu,(ZT), China Rail.
A tabulation of the various names and when they were used could be of interest.
Regards,
Bill,
Melbourne.
