We're the KF60s ever seen on the mainline? e.g. going for repair/transfer or were they always confined to industrial sites?

Cheers

On my recent China trip three weeks ago, travelling from Harbin to Hendaohezi (Mudanjiang), I saw a massive ballast train of at least twenty KF60's behind a DF8. Unfortunately, I was not able to take a photo. The cars had no China Railway marks, so I guess, they belong to a construction company of the new highspeed line Harbin - Mudanjiang.

Ralph

Thanks. Looks like a purchase is in order but perhaps not 20!

Beautiful, but will these be remotely affordable. It seems Chinese model railways are becoming more and more expensive.

I was recently told by Hong Kong hobby shops' owners that Chinese manufacturers changed their distribution policy and are prioritizing their internet shops. They are now asking street retailers to order a minimum quantity of 100 or so for a single model and are offering a very limited price discount versus their internet shops.

I thank Rinlam to update frequently the ChinaRail community about the new releases of Chinese train models but the owner of this internet model train shop must know that the price asked for the models on sale is now prohibitive for most of Western buyers.
I don't expect a sale price similar to Taobao internet shops but certainly not a x2 pricing.

... not to mention import costs 🙁 I wonder who the main market is. Presumably, there's enough Chinese collectors as I can't imagine the local toy train market or the Western market is that big.

Nice locomotives. Hopefully they will be reasonably priced. I tested some new Brawa locomotives over the weekend and whilst expensive I do find it nice not to have to fiddle with a stubborn CNR locomotive that I paid a lot of money for ( tax and postage on top of that) and it is not even possible to just take it out of the box and put it on the track and getting it to run. High price should mean high quality.

Make no mistake the models as gorgeous, but at such prices they should do what it says on the side of the tin.
