I found some open air gym equipment on ebay and I wanted to use them on the layout, but the parts are 1/75th scale and so I spent nearly 3 hours cutting this one piece down from 1/75th to 1/87th. I did it by chopping it up into 12 separate pieces, removing material and the gluing it all back together. The same, but now smaller!

I'm adding the open air gym at the end of the market, I've still to add the part shown in the photo above.

Between the tenements I'm building children's playgrounds....

Beautiful pictures!
The children's playground is also fun, but typical Chinese is the "elderly hangout" of the photo above, fun done. :)

Paul

Sorry I can't make it. Have a good time!

I'm just doing one "exhibition" this year. My wife is opening our garden for the National Garden Scheme and has included Ni-Hao as part of the deal! So am busily de snagging at present.

Cheers

Here are some random snaps I took at Bristol. We were more popular than these photos might suggest by the lack of viewers - we were so busy operating and keeping trains moving that it was only just before closing time on day # 3 that I had time to take any photos!

Image

On day # 1 we struggled to get trains running - it was after all our FIRST ever proper operating session! But maybe we went too far the other way - there are THREE trains moving through the scene in this photo.

Image

This photo shows our sign off to good effect, but maybe it was a bit too high. The control box on the front controlled various 'pop-up' photographers that appear on the layout when a steam train runs through, but I have since removed this operating position and in future (hopefully) the trains themselves will trigger the 'pop-ups'.

Image

We had an info sheet on the right hand fiddle yard screen with photos of the parts of REAL China that had inspired the layout.

Image

Double heading wasn't on my schedule - this train was supposed to be banked - but I was just happy that trains were running!

And here is a photo taken by Andrew Burnham, editor of Continental Modeller magazine - article coming out sometime soon, once the layout is finished!
