Hello everyone! My name is David, and I am fairly new to living in China. I recently accepted a position with a Chinese Airline based in Tianjin (Good news for getting around the country.)

My interst in trains began at a very young age like many of us, and the fascination of the steel wheel on steel rails never went away. Back home my main study of our hobby revolves around the Cheseapeake and Ohio railway in the mid 1950's during the American steam diesel transition.

I feel a little bummed that I missed the last of the operating steam on mainline operations here in China only by a few years! None the less I would love to meet anyone that is interested in exploring and railfanning China. Like many new people that come here, I am completely unaware of what is acceptable when it comes to taking photos and viewing trains, especially away from public stations.

Thanks for the opportunity to discuss trains here!
