Fushun mine, surface electric trains for workers

Postby ben_issacs on 13 Aug 2018, 03:02

Folks,
Way back in the 80's we visited the big Fushun pit, and had a good look at the electrified surface lines on which operated electric trains for the workers.
Some of these trains were of quite early design, with streamlined noses following the designs of similar contemporary Japanese EMUs and DMUs.
What is the situation there now-a-days, especially with the design of the trains now operated?
Or do these trains still run?
Regards,
Bill,
Melbourne.

Bill

Last report I've seen was from Peter Haworth in 2016.

Mark,
Thanks for that info.
Had a look at Peter's site, a bit of stuff on the old Japanese electrics, but not much on anything later.
Still, an interesting site.
Maybe someone else might have more up-to-date information.
Regards,
Bill,
Melbourne.
