Points in small yards

Post by mjenderby » 14 Oct 2019, 13:40

I'm building a small shunting layout - based on small US designs. i.e. loco and 2 wagons and 3 short sidings serving various industries. I'm sure such arrangements also exist/existed in China.

I'm assuming manual points and no signals but is this correct ? … could electric motors be used in such circumstances (and hence need a hut for the panel). If manual points, then what sort of levers would be used? Have been trawling through my books and motors seem to predominate everywhere!

Cheers

Mark

Found a shot I took at Huladao

Not sure how typical this is. It almost looks like a hybrid manual/electric.

Hello Mark

Interesting - I have a Chinese contact here in the UK who worked for the Chinese rail industry - I will ask him if he knows anything.
