D38 train formations - help needed please

Postby TEAMYAKIMA on 10 Apr 2017, 20:15

Hi

I'm asking about the D38 - that BIG thing that Bachmann make!

I want to run it on my exhibition layout but how was it operated? The only photos I have of it in a train show it simply tacked onto a steam powered freight leaving Daban. In the photos I've seen it has 4 type 22 coaches and two S12 cabooses with it .

That makes it an expensive add-on! Any other photos of it running in China would be very welcome!

Many thanks for this new photo - is there a photo of the other end of that same train - I think there will be coaches somewhere.

All photos of trains with the D38 are very welcome.

Thanks again

Hello,

Unfortunately, I don't have any picture of it, but I saw a loaded one a few years ago somewhere between Beijing and Datong on a shunting yard put inside a "normal" mixed freight train, hauled by a DF5 or DF7, when I passed-by there by train. It was not put in a special train at that time.
